5 Questions

In this segment Emanuel had the chance to catch up with Justin in a 5-question interview. They talked about sports and their future, take a look!

From working on this segment, I learned how to add listening shots to already editing videos. I also learned a little about my fellow classmate as well.

Creative Lighting

With the Creative lighting assignment there were six types of lighting we used a long with being creative. The model below is Emmanuel Washington.

The lighting being used is Flat Frontal Lighting

The lighting being used is Rembrandt (or 45 Degree Lighting)

The lighting being used is Split Lighting (or 90 Degree/Side Lighting)

The lighting being used is Broad Lighting

The lighting being used is Butterfly/High Frontal Lighting

This is Fun Face Lighting

Overall, I learned more techniques for lighting and how to have fun with lighting as well.

Candy Corn package

In this segment Emannuel and I went around asking students on SC States Campus how they felt about candy corn. We definitely had some good answers and people willing to try it. The reporter for most of this segment is Emmanuel, Myself as the videographer.

From working on this segment, I learned how people felt about candy corn and their opinions on other candy as well.

PSA

For my PSA video I decided to go with a topic I am very familiar with which the United States Coast guard. My PSA is focused on the CSPI scholarship that is right here on SC States campus.

From working on the project, I learned the importance of using my voice for audio. I also learned how to add music and make it lower in the background.

Three-Point Lighting Project

In this post we worked on three-point lighting, which is the use of lighting in three different positions. It is used to help create better lighting in areas they may not have the best lighting. Let's take a look at how it went! The model pictured below is Emanuel Washington.

From working on this assignment, I learned the importance of different lighting and the positions you put the lighting in.

Reflector Disk Project

A collapsible bounce light reflector can be a life saver in video production. In television news, for example, it can rescue a poor lighting situation when the reporter must have his or her back to the sun. The reflector can be positioned in front of or to the side of the reporter to bounce light from the sun onto his or her face. In this field exercise my classmates and I demonstrated how to use a reflector disk properly lets take a look!

From working on this exercise with my classmates I learned how important lighting is and that sometimes all you need is just a disk reflector to get better lighting.
